Piano Lessons
The piano is a popular and powerful instrument appropriate for any genre of music. The piano is widely employed in musical styles such as classical, jazz, traditional, and popular music for solo and ensemble performances, accompaniment, and for composing, songwriting, and rehearsals. It perhaps is the best instrument for learning the academic side of music, making it the top choice of instrument to learn first. In addition to learning to play the piano, students will learn about music theory and music history. They will also get to try their hand at things such as improvisation, transposition, and composition. The technique learned in piano lessons will prepare students to play music of any genre and for any occasion.
Lesson Information

Students will need their own instrument to practice on at home. They can choose from an acoustic piano (preferred) or electronic keyboard. When choosing an electronic keyboard, look for the option of a full size keyboard (88 keys) and weighted keys, if possible. During in person lessons, students will use the piano at the studio.

Students will also be asked to purchase lesson books, which usually cost approximately $30.00, depending on the level of development and lesson choice. The teacher will instruct on which books to purchase.
